See The First Promo Trailer for ‘The Daily Show’ With Trevor Noah

The first promotional video for the revamped version of The Daily Show, set to premiere this fall with new host Trevor Noah, is here to ease you into a Jon Stewart-less news cycle as best it can.

Set to Kanye West's "Power," the teaser is intent on allaying fears that Noah's iteration of the beloved satirical news show will be so different from Stewart's as to render it unrecognizable. Not so, claims the trailer, as the words "Same chair, different ass" flash across screen while Noah takes his seat behind Stewart's former desk.

But during a recent interview with TIME, Noah expressed that making a few vital changes to The Daily Show was necessary, if only to keep up with the way news and media consumption has changed since the show's beginnings over 17 years ago.

He said, "...you look at news and it’s changed. It’s no longer predicated around 24 hour news. There are so many different choices. Half of it is online now. Now you’ve got the Gawkers, the BuzzFeeds. The way people are drawing their news is soundbites and headlines and click-bait links has changed everything. The biggest challenge is going to be an exciting one, I’m sure, is how are we going to bring all of that together looking at it from a bigger lens as opposed to just going after one source — which was historically Fox News.”

Noah continued, “We’re still dealing with the same issues, it’s just a different angle we’re looking at things from — and it’s my angle, really. I’m taking things in a slightly different direction, but to the same endpoint.”

Noah also made a point of noting that the way he approaches a story will differ from the way Stewart would, based simply on their opposing backgrounds: "The way we look at the same story will be completely different. We have different access to different jokes, different sides, different sensitivities…the most important thing is the place that you come from.”

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will premiere on Comedy Central on September 28; in the meantime check out the promo video above.
