It looks like user submitted cover videos of everyone's favorite songs is the way to get famous nowadays. Sex tapes are soooo passe. It was really Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe' that started the whole trend. Everyone from actor James Franco to shirtless Abercrombie + Fitch boys seemed to jump on the Jepsen train. But now some really big stars (and stripes) are getting in on the action!

The Women's U.S. Olympic Soccer Team has released a cover video of their own and it's not 'Call Me Maybe.' They deserve a gold medal just for that move. Instead, the team has decided to resurrect Miley Cyrus' 'Party in the U.S.A.' from the dead, and we're thrilled, because that song still makes us do this.

The video begins with two of the women dragging their luggage down a hotel hallway lip synching along to Miley's hit. They're pretty in sync with the lyrics, but that's pretty much where it stops. After the first scene, the lip synching and actual lyrics to the song are never matched up properly and it's really just like ... way to represent us, Team U.S.A., you can't even lip sync properly.

To be fair though, we're hoping they save their talents and energy for the soccer field. But if you're going to release a video so out of sync, at least be shirtless like the A+F guys did so there's some sort of distraction. Then again, these are women, and that'd be kind of pornographic so ... maybe they should just stick to kicking the ball around on the soccer field and leave the lip synching to the Carly Rae fans.

We do give the women's team credit though. There's a lot of cute choreography going on in the video, and you can tell they're enjoying themselves, but you'd at least think they'd be 100% coordinated given their actual talents. Oh well. GO TEAM USA!
