If you haven't heard of underground electropop act Ultraviolet Sound, chances are that will change in the upcoming months. The LA-based duo, which consists of Sarah Hudson and Sami Diament, has garnered attention for their distinctive sound from pop culture blogger Perez Hilton, and they have also had their music featured on MTV's shows 'The Hills' and 'Real World.' Ultraviolet Sound's newest single 'Girl Talk' serves as audible proof as to why they are pop's next big up-and-coming act.

With funky beats that are reminiscent of Chromeo's 'Fancy Footwork' album, 'Girl Talk' immediately kicks it into high gear. As Sarah Hudson -- who is the first cousin of actress Kate Hudson and Steven Tyler's goddaughter -- sings the sexy, sassy lyrics about girlfriends gossiping, her voice switches between high-pitched singing, Kesha-esque talk-rapping, and digitally mixed vocal repetitions.

In the second verse, Hudson also comments on the current state of affairs in pop culture. She sings, "At the salon getting my hair done with a fashion magazine / Catching up on gossip and their addiction to shopping / I said, 'I'm so broke, I'm so broke, Don't ask about my dad' / My stylist said, 'It'll be OK, you're not in jail yet.'"

Throughout the dance-driven song, electronic elements like 808s, ascending keyboards and a vibrating, bumping bass line are present. Towards the end of 'Girl Talk,' the tune begins to build as Hudson shows off her true vocal abilities when she belts out "and all the girls say yay."

With its catchy, bouncing beat combined with Hudson's wide range of vocal styles, 'Girl Talk' will surely be the next song to be added to your dance party playlist. 'Girl Talk' will be featured on UVS's forthcoming album, which will be available for download on iTunes on April 12. In the meantime, download their single 'Suck My Kiss' on iTunes.
