There've been rumblings for months regarding Utada Hikaru's return from her musical hiatus in 2016, but now,she herself has confirmed the news. Finally.

In a tweet today (and an update on her official website), the First Love superstar announced that she is finishing up writing the last line of lyrics in an as-of-yet untitled theme song for an upcoming NHK drama in April called とと姉ちゃん (Toto Nee-chan).

The theme song will mark Utada's first official release since 2012's Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo theme song "Sakura Nagashi," and her first NHK theme since her children's program Minna no Uta theme, "Boku wa Kuma." (Yes, that's the one about her teddy bear, Kuma.)

Although early tabloid rumors suggested that Utada was returning with an album and two theme songs this Spring, her father Teruzane denied those reports. (For now, anyway.)

Utada first announced her hiatus from music in 2010 in order to return to her personal life for an unspecified amount of time. In the time since, she married Italian bartender Francesco Calliano in southern Italy in 2014 and gave birth to a baby boy last summer.

Prepare for the return of Hikki.
