Reports claim that Victoria Beckham has reportedly asked her close pal Eva Longoria to be the godmother of her unborn daughter, but now a rep for the Spice Girl is denying the claim.

"Victoria has not asked Eva to be a godmother and no christening plans have been discussed at this time," Beckham's rep told the Daily Mail.

However, according to The Sun, the 'Desperate Housewives' star has already been bestowed with the title. “Victoria ran it past David and they both want Eva,” a source told the paper. “She’s extremely honoured.”

Beckham and Longoria have been friends for quite some time -- and even starred in an ad for LG's Fashion Tour phone together -- but the singer and her husband, David, have plenty of top-notch friends to choose from. Gordon and Tana Ramsay; Heidi Klum and Seal; and Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly contenders for the honor.

The much-loved baby is due to arrive next month and will be the couple's fourth child. The Beckhams chose Sir Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley as godparents for their first two children, 12-year-old Brooklyn and 8-year-old Romeo.
