VidCon, an annual convention centering around online video content creators, paid tribute to Christina Grimmie this past weekend with a moving video to honor the late singer, who was shot and killed by a man police believe to have been an obsessed fan three weeks ago.

Hank and John Green of the VlogBrothers YouTube channel introduced the video, which includes a series of clips spanning the length of Grimmie's career. Her song "With Love" provides the soundtrack, which features footage from her stint on The Voice, several live performances and clips from Grimmie's YouTube videos, which is how the singer got her start.

Hank and John then asked the crowd to honor Grimmie with applause, rather than a moment of silence: “Traditionally in moments like these we take a moment of silence in our culture and we encourage you to honor Christina’s memory in whatever way you wish, but she was a talented and innovative performer and we would like to ask for, instead, a minute of applause for Christina."

Grimmie’s family held a public viewing for the singer last week, according to E! News, where her brother Marcus thanked those in attendance for their continued support.

"I don't have anything to say, I don't have words still and it's a good and bad thing," he told the crowd. "All I'm going to say is thank God for the mark that she left on this world. Thanks mom and dad I know it's going to be really tough for us to move forward.

"All the rumors are true that when the gunman came…her arms were open," he continued. "That's how she treated everyone she knew, her arms were open for them. So thanks again for coming out you guys, and I love you Christina."
