Beyonce is being sued by software developer Gate Five for more than $100 million for allegedly reneging on a contract to create a dance-themed video game based on the pop superstar's music.

Gate Five argues in its breach-of-contract lawsuit that Beyonce had agreed to develop a motion-sensing game called 'Starpower: Beyonce,' but caused the deal to collapse when she "made an extortionate demand for entirely new compensation." Furthermore, the company claims that Beyonce's actions destroyed its business and cost dozens of people their jobs.

"In early December, everything was still a go. And then the week of Christmas, she said that's it, I don't want to hear from you guys, go away, resulting in 70 people losing their jobs," says Gate Five founder Greg Easley. "We'd much rather make a game than litigate. But we want to recover damages that Gate Five suffered."

The lawsuit also claims that Beyonce's father, Mathew Knowles, who was still her manager at the time, thought the singer's demands were "so unscrupulous" that he even "renounced them."
