They’ve each recorded plenty of songs in their own right, but if we were going to pick an anthem for the fallout over the nightclub brawl between Chris Brown and Drake that erupted last June, it’d have to be Shaggy’s ‘It Wasn’t Me.’

The singers quickly became the target of a $16 million lawsuit filed by the club owners, which Drake has tried to have dismissed while denying responsibility; meanwhile, Brown’s lawyers have opted for the ever-popular “he started it” defense, claiming to have evidence proving the whole thing is Drake’s fault.

Entertaining as all that is, it isn’t the only legal drama that Brown and Drake may end up having to worry about. TMZ reports that NBA player Tony Parker, who happened to be in the building the night the fight erupted, has sued the owners of the club for $20 million — but they’re passing the buck (literally), filing court papers saying that because Brown and Drake were the ones who “contributed to, instigated, participated and/or engaged” in the melee, any damages awarded Parker should come out of their pockets.

It seems a little hard to believe that a nightclub fight could end up costing $36 million, but inflated numbers aside, it’s hard to feel bad for Brown and Drake here — anyone who’s ever been shopping knows that if you break it, you bought it, and these guys basically broke a nightclub. We’d recommend padding their legal fund by getting together and recording a song.
