Watch One Direction Perform Without Zayn Malik

One Direction are truckin' on with their U.S. tour despite missing a band member. Zayn Malik jetted back to the U.K. following a death in his family (speculated to be his aunt), but the group seems to be making do in these new live videos.

One Direction are currently on tour with Big Time Rush. Malik left the tour last week to be with his family when a close member passed away. Harry Styles announced the early exit, tweeting, “Zayn has suffered a loss in his family & has had to go home for a few days so won’t be at our next shows in the US…” He added: “…Our thoughts are with him and his family at this sad time.”

Malik has remained mum on the sad matter;  his only reference of the loss being a retweet from a fan: “God has no Phone, but I talk to him. He has no Facebook, but he is still my friend. He does not have a twitter, but I still follow him. ♥”

The group has been filling in Malik's signature solos during his absence, but his voice is so distinct that it's a rather tall order for the blokes to fill. Malik is expected to return to the tour soon. Check out their performances below. While they certainly do a good job, it's safe to say Malik is irreplaceable -- we can't wait til he comes back!
