The Weeknd caught a serious case of the feels on the Coachella main stage last night.

During his big exhibit at the famous music festival Saturday (April 14), the 28-year-old star saw himself growing teary-eyed while giving a passionate execution of "Call Out My Name," a track off his recently-released EP, My Dear Melancholy.

Though it seemed like the singer was doing well holding his composure and belting his impressionable falsetto, it was evident to listeners and audience members alike that something (or someone) had reduced him.

With each lyrical note, the Canadian pop star looked to be enduring some semblance of visceral heartache, which, ultimately, manifested in the form of teardrops streaming down the vocalist's face.

Based on the footage alone, it's obvious that the lyrics, or perhaps the memories attached to them, hit a powerful chord with the singer.

On the other hand, one Twitter conspiracy suggested the real culprit behind the vocalist's anguish is his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, whom he split with last October after nearly a year as a couple.

Soon enough, though, Selenators rallied to defend their fave against the assumption.

One wrote into the conversation: "The Weeknd playing the victim, you literally said Selena wasn't even half your ex, literally what are you crying for? Sorry but I am not falling for it."

"If the weeknd said selena wasn’t half of bella then why is he crying over her on stage??? yeah exactly exactly," another Gomez stan chimed in with similar sentiments.

While it's unsure whether the performer was, in fact, writhing in breakup-related distress during his performance of the song, the idea isn't an uncanny one. Fans have already pointed out how certain lyrics of the track definitely make valid allusions to just how devoted to the "Fetish" songbird he really was.

As previously reported, one verse in particular — "I said I didn’t feel nothing baby, but I lied / I almost cut a piece of myself for your life" — has been rumored to propose that the "Privilege" superstar's allegiance to Gomez was so serious that he likely contemplated donating a kidney of his own to her when she required a transplant last year.
