Whatever Happened to the Buggles?

After the Buggles disbanded in 1981, both Trevor Hurt and Geoff Downes went on to have successful solo careers both as artists and producers.

But before the Buggles broke up, both Hurt and Downes toured and recorded with the band Yes. This collaboration eventually led to Downes forming the group Asia with members of Yes, and they went on to produce hits like 'Heat of the Moment.'

Hurt, on the other hand, went on to have a successful career as a producer, helping to churn out tracks for artists like Tina Turner, Robbie Williams, Simple Minds and Cher. He also produced the song 'Kiss From a Rose' for Seal, as well as t.A.T.u's hit songs 'All the Things She Said' and 'Not Gonna Get Us.' Additionally, Hurt also has a large stake in record companies like ZTT Records and Sarm Studios.

While they have kept busy on their own, Hurt and Downes have reunited for Buggles shows in the past. After the group parted ways in 1981, they did not perform together until 1998, when the duo hit the stage to perform 'Video Killed the Radio Star' (and that song alone) at a new bands showcase for ZTT Records. Then, in 2004, the Buggles took the stage for a charity concert in the U.K.

In 2010, they reunited yet again, along with original member Bruce Woolley for their 'Lost Gig' show, where they played their full-length album 'The Age of Plastic' in its entirety. The Buggles' most recent show occurred in October 2011 at London's O2 Arena for the British Music Experience -- judging from the video below, these guys have still got it.
