The continued success of the Star Wars franchise has made a spinoff movie revolving around a young Han Solo an upcoming reality. And while a star is not yet attached to play the lead role, a shortlist of young actors has revealed the dozen or so still in the running to play the coveted part.

According to Variety, those names include the likes of Dave Franco, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Scott Eastwood, Logan Lerman, Emory Cohen and Blake Jenner, among a few others who remain unnamed.

Although the film -- which is slated for a May 25, 2018 release date -- doesn’t actually begin shooting until January 2017, sources say a casting decision will likely be made within the next few weeks. A different Star Wars film, Rogue One: A Star Wars, is currently shooting and may include a cameo from the new Han Solo — hence the early casting.

While the studio tested actors ranging between 17 and 34 years of age, it appears they’ve decided to stick with actors between the ages of 20 to 25 (barring Eastwood, who's 29).

The actor set to play Han Solo has some enormous Harrison Ford-sized shoes to fill and any casting decision will likely displease a subset of fans — Variety’s comments section is currently a mess (examples: "wrong wrong wrong!!!!” and "As for the short list non of them please god non of them [sic]”). With that in mind, we're giving YOU the chance to vote for your own Han Solo pick. The Internet is nothing if not littered with opinions!

Should it be Dave Franco, bringing comic relief? Oscar-nominated tool Miles Teller? Taylor Swift video extra Scott Eastwood? Up-and-coming DJ Ansel "Ansolo" Elgort? Someone else entirely? Vote in the poll below.
