Despite some misleading comments from Kanye West at the Austin City Limits music festival last Friday, the Black Eyed Peas are not splitting, according to frontman Will.i.am. The dance-pop group is taking a break for a while, but will.i.am has assured fans that the hiatus will not be permanent.

At the end of West's 'All of the Lights' performance at Austin City Limits, the rapper shouted into his mic, "Rest in peace to the Black Eyed Peas. You’re gonna be missed." After getting word of West's comment on the BEP, fans all over began to worry that the group was officially breaking up. However, will.i.am says this is not the case.

On his official Twitter page, the rapper/singer wrote, "maybe @kanyewest was stating the fact we will take a rest for a little bit...but we the @bep will never die...never...impossible."

Perhaps West got confused about the Black Eyed Peas announcing their hiatus, assuming that they were parting ways for good. The group did announce an impending break during July, with will.i.am tweeting, "The @Bep will take a break after the beginning…just like we did from monkey business to the e.n.d…but it doesn't mean we stop creating."

Although his well wishes weren't necessarily called for, it was nice for Yeezy to give some love to the Black Eyed Peas, especially since it seemed that he truly believed the group was splitting up. We are definitely happy to hear that they aren't, however! Who would we have turned to for fist-pumping party jams?
