Will.i.am is pulling out all the stops to make sure his new record, '#willpower,' is out of this world. Literally. The former Black Eyed Peas frontman is debuting his new single with Britney Spears, 'Reach for the Stars,' from Mars!

The song will premiere from the Mars Curiosity Rover in a special NASA educational event in which the rover's findings will be presented to students. NASA said they picked the song because it's about "the singer's passion for science, technology and space exploration." So rad!

Will.i.am will also announce a new project through his i.am.angel Foundation that will provide resources for science, technology, engineering, arts and math to schools. The song will debut at 4PM ET today (Aug. 28) here.

Spears tweeted about the event, even hinting at her online friendship with the Curiosity. Seriously, how cute is she?

'Reach for the Stars' will be the first single from '#willpower' out of the 16 tracks on the record. Will.i.am wrote between 200 and 300 songs for the project, which hits shelves Oct. 15. “‘#willpower’ has been a journey," will said, "and I’m proud of the journey to get all the songs I have right now and the work I did to get all the songs for this record.”
