Supermarket tabloid In Touch is questionably reporting that actor/rapper Will Smith and actress/singer Jada Pinkett Smith have split after 13 years of marital bliss. The likeable couple have two very successful, showbiz kids: Jaden, 13, and Willow, 10. The source of the story is someone who claims to have inside knowledge of the matter, which makes the story one of great speculation.

While there has been no official statement on the matter, the sleuths at TMZ did speak with Pinkett-Smith's publicist Karynne Tencer, who said, "What? In Touch said that? I know nothing about this ... Lord. I'm going back to bed." Apparently, this gossip report is not enough to get Pinkett-Smith's handler out of bed and into damage control mode! That reaction also makes us wonder if the story is completely false.

Both Smith, who is said to be working on a new album, and Pinkett-Smith have expressed their disdain for divorce. Smith told MTV in 2006 that when the couple got married on Dec. 31, 1997, "I stood up in front of God and said, 'Til death do us part.' So there are two possible outcomes. One, we are going to be together till death, or two, I am dead."

His wife echoed those sentiments in Ebony in 2009, saying, "When Will asked me to get married, I said, 'Understand this, there will be no divorce.' So, you might be in one bedroom and I might be in another, but we're gonna be under the same roof and we're gonna be married.'"

After news of the "split" began taking on a life of its own, Tencer issued a terse statement on Pinkett-Smith's behalf to Entertainment Tonight where she said that the stories that Pinkett-Smith was involved with her 'HawthoRNe' co-star (and ex-husband of Jennifer Lopez) Marc Anthony are not true and that comments about a split are not being addressed:  "Everything about the Marc Anthony story is completely false, but we are not commenting on whether they are separating or not."

The plot thickened until the couple actually issued a joint statement, saying that they are still together.

PEOPLE reports the statement read as follows: "Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false...We are still together, and our marriage is intact."
