Wiz Khalifa gets into bit of a melancholy mood while thinking about the people around him in his new track, 'The Race.' The song is our third taste of Khalifa's upcoming album 'Rolling Papers.'

After two breezy, upbeat tracks -- the first representing his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers with 'Black and Yellow' and the second trying to get a girl's attention on 'Roll Up' -- Khalifa's in a more downbeat mood, thinking about the rat race of the music business. He's clearly taking pride in what he's accomplished so far, but finds that dealing with jealous so-called friends is tougher than he expected.

Over a downbeat but extremely smooth backing track -- featuring a particularly nice combination of strings and backing vocals -- Khalifa finds the best peace comes when he's alone, and vows not to let the haters get him down as he keeps rising to the top:

"I’m riding round, smoking, good music aloud / Kinda do my thing, no disrespect to the n-ggas before me / Some smile up in your face but then they don’t on the low / Now I just stunt on my own / Now I just stunt on my own / I’m in a race, and taking the winners place / No foot on the brakes."

'Rolling Papers' will be Khalifa's third album -- but his first on a major label. It's due in stores on March 29. The rapper also just finished up a gig co-hosting MTV's Spring Break party in Las Vegas.
