Australia's 'The X Factor' premiered on Aug. 29, and now a new video from its auditions has surfaced, showcasing the, um, talents of 18-year-old Luke O'Dell.

We give anyone props for going up on stage and giving it his all, but we can't support how the Perth native effectively butchered Kelly Clarkson's 'Since You've Been Gone.' Granted, no one can nail the song like the pop star can, but with an alleged 10 years of singing under his belt, we expected much more from the teen.

The judges were entirely turned off by the performance, but to his credit, the confident hopeful didn't let the criticism get the best of him. In fact, he boldly offered to sing one of his original songs for the panel.

O'Dell performed his self-penned composition 'Introvert Extrovert,' putting forth his best effort to win the crowd and judges over, but to no avail. Even with the catchy lyric, "Introvert, extrovert, doesn't matter," the eyeliner-wearing singer did not pass through to the next round. Still, the judges admitted they'd be singing the chorus long after the show was over.

'X Factor' Australia is in its third season, and features former Spice Girl Melanie Brown -- better known as Mel B. -- as a judge.
