In addition to earning a $5 million record deal, the winner of Simon Cowell's new reality singing program, 'X Factor,' will star in a Pepsi commercial to air following Super Bowl XLVI.

The new prize details emerged as 'X Factor' announced its television schedule. The show premieres on FOX on September 21 and 22 with a two-hour episode each night highlighting this summer's auditions in cities across the country.

More auditions will be broadcast the following week, before "boot camp" sessions begin on October 5 and 6 on broadcasts from Los Angeles. There, the performers will face judges Cowell, Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger.

The contestants will be split into four demographic groups: Younger guys, younger girls, older singers and groups. Like on NBC's show 'The Voice,' 'X Factor' judges will also serve as mentors. Each will be assigned one of the groups to assist for the remainder of the season.

Live shows begin on October 12 and viewer voting starts November 2, with the finale airing on December 21 and 22, giving the lucky winner an early Christmas gift.
