Never mind that a new season of 'American Idol' is kicking off today... 'X Factor' fans have banded together and voted their show the Best Reality TV Singing Competition of 2012.

Pop superstars Britney Spears and Demi Lovato brought a fresh and new look to Season 2 of 'X Factor' following Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul's departures. And although the show is still not as big as its original U.K. version, both girls' sass and emotion had us tuning in every week (especially to watch Lovato and Simon Cowell's banter). We're sad to hear that Brit is not returning next season, but we look forward to seeing who will fill her shoes, and can successfully mentor contestants like this year's runner-up Carly Rose Sonenclar, who along with Emblem3 and Fifth Harmony, recently inked a record deal with Sony.

This award (which garnered them 81.39% of the votes!) is a huge accomplishment for the FOX network, who got in a friendly competition with NBC and 'The Voice' this past year in terms of ratings. 'X Factor' also beat out two other primetime show contenders, 'American Idol' (which will feature feuding divas Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey come Season 12) and the newer show 'Duets,' which debuted in late Spring 2012 and starred Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Robin Thicke and Sugarland vocalist Jennifer Nettles.

Congrats to 'X Factor'! We're super stoked to see who will be on the judges panel next season.
