Zooey Deschanel performed 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at Game 4 of the 2011 World Series on Sunday night, adding to the list of stars who have been tapped to sing at the championship event.

The singer/actress took her job very seriously, choosing a festive red, black and white dress for her appearance at Rangers Ballpark. She performed the tune without a hitch and kept her rendition straight and simple for the excited crowd.

The blue-eyed beauty's performance kicked off the fourth match-up between the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals, in which the Rangers dominated with a 4-0 win, tying the series at two games each. Game 5 will take place on Monday night at Rangers Ballpark again, this time with Demi Lovato on national anthem duties.

The two ladies have represented the female talent at the 2011 World Series, with Scotty McCreery, Trace Adkins and Ronnie Dunn performing 'The Star-Spangled Banner' over the last week, as well.

Deschanel currently stars on the FOX series 'New Girl,' and is one-half of the indie pop group She & Him. She is expected to release 'A Very She and Him Christmas' on Merge Records on Oct. 25, which follows the duo's 2010 LP, 'Volume Two.'
