While there is no denying that 'American Idol' hopeful Jacob Lusk can sing his arse off, the vocalist is honest about his inability to shake what the good Lord gave him, refuting any rumor that he can actually dance. "I am not a dancer," Lusk tells Showbiz Shelly on B96. "It is a lie from the pit of hell. The only thing I can do is sing. I do act. I do some serious acting. But that's it."

While some 'Idol' watchers might consider Lusk's onstage histrionics as another form of acting in itself, the singer says he will continue to raise the bar by emotionally connecting with audiences. Lusk adds, "For me, I have to keep touching people and make them feel what I am feeling and if I do that, I'll be okay."

Lusk hits some glass-shattering high notes during his performances and he has a very simple formula to keep himself in tip-top shape: sleep and hydration, which are two very basic human needs. "I sleep, since our schedules are so crazy. That and lots of water and eating good in the neighborhood," Lusk says. His eats of choice? Collard greens and cornbread.

Sounds like Lusk knows what will fuel him through the course of the competition.
