Then + Now: The Cast of ‘Full House’
Though 'Full House' ended almost two decades ago, it seems like the cast keeps popping up "everywhere you look." (We had to!) From Instagram pics of their reunions and hilarious Tanner family Super Bowl commercials to countless reruns, we love that San Fransisco's favorite blended family is still together after all these years. But what exactly have they been up to since the show went off the air? Read on to see where the cast of 'Full House' is now.
Bob Saget (Danny Tanner)
Then: Bob Saget's portrayal of Danny Tanner earned him a spot as one of the most beloved TV dads of all time. Let's face it: We all wanted a dad like Danny, even if he was freakishly obsessed with cleaning and made out with D.J.'s Spanish teacher that one time. In addition to starring on 'Full House,' Saget also did double duty as the host of 'America's Funniest Home Videos' from 1989 straight through 1997. In stark contrast to Saget's roles in two of the most family friendly shows of the '90s, his stand-up comedy routine was raunchy, profanity-laced and just downright dirty. What would Danny Tanner say?
Now: After 'Full House,' Saget has continued his career on TV, including a starring role in the short-lived series 'Raising Dad' (alongside Kat Dennings), as the host of the game show '1 vs. 100' 'nd as a parody of himself on 'Entourage.' Post-'Full House,' Saget's most notable role is narrating 'How I Met Your Mother,' which he has been voicing since 2005. He still does stand-up, and, most importantly, still frequently gets together with his former 'Full House' cast.
John Stamos (Jesse Katsopolis)
Then: Have mercy! After getting his start as Blackie on 'General Hospital,' John Stamos played Danny's badass brother-in-law, who moves in with the Tanner fam to help raise the girls after their mother's untimely death. Uncle Jesse's deep devotion to his hair and his obsession with Elvis was only rivaled by his love and commitment to his family. Let's be real, ladies: Aunt Becky was one lucky woman.
Now: Stamos has had a successful acting career since his 'Full House' days, scoring a recurring role as Dr. Tony Gates on 'ER' and a four-episode arc on 'Glee.' In 2009, he starred in the Broadway revival of 'Bye Bye Birdie.' Stamos has also set his sights on his music career, performing with the Beach Boys and reuniting his 'Full House' gig as Jesse and the Rippers on 'Jimmy Fallon' in 2013. He is currently the face of Oikos greek yogurt, and recently reunited with his 'Full House' bros in a hilarious Super Bowl commercial for the brand.
Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone)
Then: Dave Coulier played Danny's best friend Joey, who, along with Jesse, moves in and helps to raise the girls. On the show, Joey was known for his childlike interests and his mean Popeye and Bullwinkle impressions (Coulier was a trained voice actor). Though Joey did not have much success with the ladies, Coulier's other claim to fame in the '90s was dating (and then breaking up with) rocker Alanis Morrisette. He is thought to have been the inspiration behind some of the songs on her 1995 album, 'Jagged Little Pill.'
Now: Since 'Full House,' Coulier has mainly focused on his stand-up career. In 2013, he appeared in an episode of 'Losing It with John Stamos,' where he told his former co-star all about how he lost his virginity.
Candace Cameron (D.J. Tanner)
Then: Candace Cameron played the feather-haired D.J. Tanner, the oldest of the Tanner sisters. During her time on 'Full House,' Cameron also starred in several made-for-TV movies, including 'No One Would Tell,' a cautionary tale where she played a young woman whose boyfriend (played by Fred Savage) beats her so violently that she dies. (Yikes.) Oh, and she later played a witch in an episode of 'Boy Meets World.'
Now: Shortly after 'Full House' ended, Cameron met hockey player Valeri Bure (the two were introduced by Dave Coulier), and the actress and hockey star tied the knot in 1996, later having three children together. Cameron has continued to act, starring on the ABC Family gymnastics drama 'Make It or Break It' and in several movies on the Hallmark Channel. Like her older brother, actor Kirk Cameron, the former 'Full House' star is deeply spiritual, and has written several books about her previous struggle with bulimia and how she juggles healthy eating, her religion, her career and her family.
Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner)
Then: Jodie Sweetin rose to fame as Stephanie, the middle Tanner sister. The world watched as Stephanie grew up from a spunky little kid ("how rude!") to a young woman who had to deal with serious issues like a friend's abuse.
Now: After 'Full House' ended in 1995, Sweetin struggled with a serious crystal meth addiction that lasted for years, even showing up to the premiere of the Olsen's 2004 movie, 'New York Minute,' high as a kite. She has been married (and divorced) three times, and has two young daughters, Zoie and Beatrice. Sweetin later wrote about her struggle with drug addiction in her memoir, 'UnSweetined,' and is currently filming a movie about Walt Disney's life, called 'Walt Before Mickey.'
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (Michelle Tanner)
Then: To put it bluntly, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were 'Full House.' Through their shared role as Michelle Tanner, the Olsen twins grew up before our very eyes, transforming from wide-eyed babies to media moguls. From the '90s through the early 2000s, MK + A starred in countless movies, TV shows and started a "twin" craze that the world never really grew out of.
Now: The twins' last movie together was 2004's 'New York Minute.' After dropping out of NYU, the Olsens continued to work together on their various fashion ventures, though Mary-Kate has also continued to act, with roles in 'The Wackness,' 'Beastly' and on 'Weeds.' MK, who battled anorexia in the past, is currently dating 42-year-old Olivier Sarkozy. Ashley dated 'Hangover' actor Justin Bartha for two years before calling it quits in 2011.
Lori Loughlin (Rebecca Donaldson)
Then: Lori Loughlin played Rebecca Donaldson, Danny's 'Wake Up, San Francisco' co-anchor who eventually marries Jesse and becomes Aunt Becky to D.J., Steph and Michelle. Of course, she also becomes a loving mother to twin boys Alex and Nicky.
Now: Post-'Full House,' Loughlin has had several significant acting credits to her name, including a starring role on 'Summerland' (alongside Jesse McCartney) and later as Debbie Wilson on the CW's '90210' (a show on which Loughlin's former 'FH' co-star Scott Weinger was a writer and producer). She has since starred in the Hallmark movie and subsequent TV show 'When Calls the Heart,' and also made a brief return as Aunt Becky at the end of John Stamos' Jesse and the Rippers performance on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' in 2013.
Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler)
Then: Andrea Barber portrayed Kimmy Gibbler, D.J.'s ditzy best friend and the Tanner family's annoying (but ultimately lovable) next-door neighbor. She was responsible for giving Danny the nickname 'Tannerito,' something we are all thankful for.
Now: After retiring from acting after 'Full House,' Barber married and had a family. Based on her Instagram account, she is a marathon runner and is still besties with Candace Cameron, with whom she frequently freaks out about New Kids on the Block. In 2012, Barber even briefly reprised her role as Kimmy Gibbler in a comedy short with Dave Coulier.
Scott Weinger (Steve Hale)
Then: Scott Weinger played Steve, D.J.'s kind-hearted boyfriend who could pack away food like nobody's business. In addition to his part on 'Full House,' Weinger voiced Aladdin in the classic Disney film and the subsequent animated TV series.
Now: After graduating from Harvard, Weinger better familiarized himself with the other side of the camera, becoming a TV writer and producer. He has worked on such shows as 'What I Like About You,' 'Privileged,' '90210' and, currently, 'The Neighbors.' Pretty impressive.
Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit (Nicky and Alex Katsopolis)
Then: Blonde mop-topped twins Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit played Jesse and Rebecca's adorable twin boys, Nicky and Alex, who were brought onto the show to cash in on the Olsen twin craze.
Now: The boys retired from acting after 'Full House' and have conflicting reports on how much they remember filming. (According to Blake [Nicky], he doesn't remember anything, but Dylan [Alex] does.) According to Twitter, Blake is a firefighter living in Georgia and Dylan lives in California and went to college to be a sound technician.
Gail Edwards (Vicky Larson)
Then: Gail Edwards played Vicky, Danny's only serious love interest on the series. She not only broke Danny's heart when she decided to move to Chicago, ending their engagement, but she broke ours too. (We're still crying about it.) During this time, she also played Sharon LeMuere on 'Blossom.'
Now: In 1994, Edwards ended her roles on 'Full House' and 'Blossom,' retired from the business and moved to the Southwest, her website states. She seems to be living a relatively private life and does not have much of an online presence.
