Freedom for Gucci Mane was short-lived. Two months after being released from jail, the Atlanta rapper is returning to prison after pleading guilty to battery.

Solicitor-General Sherry Boston of DeKalb County, Ga., said that Mane pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including battery, reckless conduct and disorderly conduct. The charges stemmed from an incident in which Mane allegedly pushed a woman out of his Hummer as he drove. He is now being sentenced to six months in prison, followed by probation.

On July 8, Mane was released after serving three months of a five-month sentence for a probation violation. He was excited to be free and began working on new projects, including a collaboration with Chris Brown that Breezy previewed in August.

Mane managed to drop a mixtape while he was in custody this summer, so perhaps he has enough music recorded to release another new project while he serves out his new sentence. For the sake of Gucci Mane and his fanbase, we hope he'll stay out of trouble when he leaves the slammer again in 2012!
