How Taylor Swift Helped Jeff Jarrett’s Family During Their Toughest Time
Did you know that wrestling legend Jeff Jarrett developed a close friendship with singer-songwriter Taylor Swift during the mid-2000s? It happened when they were neighbors in Nashville, Tennessee. This connection was particularly significant for Jarrett's family following the passing of his wife, Jill, in 2007.
In an interview with WREG News Channel 3, Jarrett recounted, "She’s a friend of the family. Very good to my family during a very dark period in our family. My wife got sick and she passed away, but Taylor was like a big sister and came over and took the girls, baking cookies and just kinda hung out at the house."
Further elaborating on their bond during an appearance on Instinct Culture with Denise Salcedo, Jarrett mentioned, "Taylor would come over and get the girls and take them back to her house and they'd bake cookies and all kind of stuff. One day, Taylor brought over Joe Jonas."
The friendship extended into professional collaborations. Swift invited Jarrett's daughter, Jaclyn, to appear in her 2010 music video for "Mine." Jarrett explained, "Taylor said, 'Hey, I'd love to have your daughters in the video.' So my daughter Jaclyn is in the 'Mine' video."
Swfit commented in a behind-the-scenes video "I chose Jaclyn to be mini me because I've known her for a long time and I always used to joke around with her and say, 'You look just like I did when I was younger, and one of these days I'm gonna call you up, but I'm gonna have you play a younger version of me in a music video.' Now it actually happened."
Reflecting on Swift's career, Jarrett expressed admiration, stating, "Not only is she uber-creative as an artist, she thinks like a businesswoman. Those two skillsets combined, you rarely see. She deserves all the success she has."
This enduring friendship highlights the meaningful connections that can form across different spheres, bridging the worlds of wrestling and music.
