Katy Perry has a big, $175,000 heart. Through ticket sales for her massive California Dreams tour, which wrapped last month, Perry was able to raise $175,000 for charity. The funds will be dispersed over a collection of 50 nonprofits, with $40,000 being allocated to the Humane Society of the United States (a favored charity of fellow pop star Kesha). Another $40,000 will be donated to the Children's Health Fund, while another $40,000 will be supplied to Generosity Water.

To raise the money for this initiative, the 'Firework' singer made special tickets available for sale for her U.S. tour through Tickets-for-Charity.com, where fans were able to gain access some of the best seats in the house while also supporting these organizations and other charities of their choice! How cool is that? Great seats to a Katy concert, all the while doing good? It's a brilliant strategy and one that paid off with incredible dividends.

The singer personally selected the three charities to benefit from her Tickets-for-Charity program. Of the efforts, Perry said, "I’m thrilled to be able to help support the work these organizations are doing to fight and prevent animal cruelty, provide health care to homeless children and bring clean drinking water to communities around the world."

She also took a moment to personally thank all her fans, without whom this would be possible. She gushed, "I can’t thank my amazing fans enough for their generosity in helping these great causes by choosing Tickets-for-Charity.com for their tickets!"

In case you were curious about the charities, here are crucial details. Because of Katy's initiative, Children’s Health Fund will be able fund more than 430 doctor visits through their nationwide fleet of mobile health clinics, providing health care for underserved youth. Meanwhile, Generosity Water is building wells in Ghana, Nigeria, Laos and India and will be able to provide clean, safe drinking water to more than 4,000 people, courtesy of this effort. Also, the Humane Society is working on rescue operations for nearly 50 puppy mills because of the contribution.

See how easy it is to make a difference?
