Ever since Madonna has been promoting her new movie 'W.E.,' she has been taking potshots at Lady Gaga and Elton John. Most recently, the Golden Globe winner was overheard talking smack about Janet Jackson.

During an interview with NY1 to promote her new movie and Super Bowl XLVI halftime show, the Material Girl threw a subliminal remark at Ms. Jackson for her controversial nipple slip during her halftime performance at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004.

When asked if she was planning any 'naughty' surprises with her show, Madge quipped, "I have not mainstreamed and I’m not planning anything naughty. I’m planning something super entertaining." She then added, "Yep, yep! You don’t have to show nipples to be interesting and it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re cutting edge if you do right?"

Hmmm? Those are some interesting choice of words coming from a woman who also peddle her flesh during her career. Does anyone remember the 'Sex' book? And what about Madge's sensual video for 'Justify My Love'? That was considered cutting edge, during its time.

Subliminal disses aside, Madonna upcoming halftime show is shaping up to be "super entertaining" as she said in the interview. Hip-Hop queen Nicki Minaj just confirmed that she will join Madge onstage for the Feb. 5 event in Indianapolis. Also, added to the show are reportedly LMFAO and officially pop crooner Cee Lo Green.

So, hopefully, Madonna will bring her pom poms and not all of this shade she's throwing at Elton John, Lady Gaga and Janet Jackson.
