Boy-band good looks and a knack for writing catchy melodies brought Australia’s 5 Seconds of Summer to the brink of worldwide stardom by the time its members were in their late teens. The pop-rock quartet got together in late 2011 and developed a fanatic following with the videos they posted on YouTube. Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin emulated heroes such as Green Day and Boys Like Girls by playing their own instruments and penning their own tunes. By the end of 2012, 5SOS had released a pair of EPs and toured twice. The following year, they broke internationally as openers for pals One Direction. Released in 2014, the band’s self-titled debut album features the singles ‘She Looks So Perfect,’ ‘Don’t Stop’ and ‘Amnesia.’
