On Tuesday's 2.5-hour live 'X Factor,' the goal was to narrow 17 acts down to 12. In our opinion, Dexter Haygood made that a little bit easier.

The second episode of 'X Factor' found the judges canvassing two major cities for talent, with Melanie Amaro, Caitlin Koch and Dexter Haygood impressing the judges and becoming the standouts.

Dexter Haygood's act/persona was instantly obvious. He is a self-styled rock 'n' roll soul man -- Mick Jagger and James Brown all rolled into one, mixed into a single package, complete with his vintage disco dude heels. He had to show the judges the "Dex" factor, though, rather than portray himself as a copycat act, on 'X Factor.'
