Miranda Sings

Comedian, actress and singer Colleen Ballinger found unexpected internet fame by parodying… well, the internet. Back in 2009 Ballinger began posting videos under the character name Miranda Sings, spoofing YouTubers who film and upload videos in the hopes of striking it big -- even if they don’t have much talent to back it up. The character is prone to singing off-key while remaining relentlessly self-confident in her talents, inciting the catchphrase, “Haters back off!” Following the viral success of her very first video, “Free Voice Lesson,” Ballinger began creating more clips offering unhelpful tutorials, discussing pop culture and covering current radio hits from the likes of Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj and more. Since then, Ballinger has taken her Miranda Sings character on the road for stand-up acts across the world and even appeared on Nickelodeon’s Victorious, Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
