The MTV Europe Music Awards were, in typical MTV fashion, a spectacle.

Coldplay were a day-glo dream in their set of 'Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall.' Frontman Chris Martin wore a t-shirt and sneakers to the event. Combined with the black backdrop with neon lettering, he resembled a high school student in front of the class!

Lady Gaga didn't show up in an egg, but she was somewhat housed in -- by her outfit! Clad in what looked like a blue UFO of a hat and a giant red foil spiral of a dress, Mother Monster performed 'Marry the Night' looking like a robotic singing rose on a set designed to resembled the moon. Of course, the giant sartorial statements got in the way of Gaga's dancing -- she eventually shedded both pieces, revealing a short metallic red skirt and matching top underneath that permitted much more movement. The outfit was another variation on the silver and white number she wore to accept her lunar accolades.

Hostess with the mostess Selena Gomez donned a sparkly purple onesie for her performance of 'Hit the Lights' with her band, the Scene. Cute!

Bruno Mars and his band changed out of their pink suits (they matched the carpet!) into baby blue numbers for 'Marry You.' Swoon!

Justin Bieber did a mashup of his own tunes -- 'Never Say Never' and 'Mistletoe.' Isn't it a little early for Christmas carols? Whatever, he sounded great!

Fellow diva Jessie J performed with David Guetta and Taio Cruz, filling in for Usher's parts on 'Without You' as well as her own hit single, 'Pricetag.'

LMFAO brought their trademark neon colors, leopard prints, and party hearty attitude to the show, opening with 'Sexy And I Know It' before shufflin' into 'Party Rock Anthem' with some special guests -- the cast of 'Dancing With the Stars!'

The MTV EMAs aren't just about who wins -- they're about how great everyone looks and sounds. The audience were bigger winners than any of the stars, because they got to take in one awesome show.
