The 2012 MTV Movie Awards nominations are out, and LMFAO and Kid Cudi are among the acts who secured a nomination in the Best Music category.

The Best Music award goes to the song "with enough melody magic to set the tone of an entire scene." LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem' is a contender for the scene from '21 Jump Street' when the song plays in the background during a raucous party. The Steve Aoki Dance Remix of Cudi's 'Pursuit of Happiness' is nominated for a similar scene from 'Project X.' Also nominated are the Chemical Brothers' 'The Devil Is in the Details' from 'Hanna,' Figurine's 'Impossible' from 'Like Crazy,' and College's 'A Real Hero' from 'Drive.'

A couple of musicians nabbed Movie Awards nominations for their acting skills. Rapper Ice Cube is up for Best Cast along with five other actors from '21 Jump Street,' while Lenny Kravitz is one of six performers nominated for the same award for 'The Hunger Games.'

The MTV Movie Awards winners are determined by fan voting. The show airs on June 3 from the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles. Fun. are booked to perform 'We Are Young' on the show.
