ABC has sanctioned a Roseanne spinoff… without its titular figure.

The network, which has been the subject of nail-biting speculation with regards to the future of the beloved American family sitcom, greenlit the series for a spinoff on Thursday (June 21).

The Conners, the title of the long-questioned revival, will receive a 10-episode production at ABC, Entertainment Weekly reports. Per the site, the restoration will follow the Conner family through "the daily struggles of life in Lanford in a way they never have before." Among the tribulations faced by the spinoff's returning members — Dan (John Goodman), Darlene (Sara Gilbert), Becky (Lecy Goranson), D.J. (Michael Fishman), and Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) — include "parenthood, dating, an unexpected pregnancy, financial pressures, aging, and in-laws in working-class America."

The approval arrives nearly a month after the reboot was axed on May 29, in light of Roseanne Barr's string of bigoted tweets charged at former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett.

As previously reported, Barr's rumored compromise and withdrawal from the possible project supposedly contained "substantial fees and backend on any spinoff of Roseanne," to which the 65-year-old was contractually entitled. Though the rumored consultation between Barr and ABC seemed to suggest her readiness to financially and creatively detach herself from the spinoff and forgo those rights entirely for a one-time payment, therefore permitting the spinoff to proceed without her.

Soon after the spinoff news was announced, EW obtained this statement from Barr: “I regret the circumstances that have caused me to be removed from Roseanne. I agreed to the settlement in order that 200 jobs of beloved cast and crew could be saved, and I wish the best for everyone involved.”

“We have received a tremendous amount of support from fans of our show, and it’s clear that these characters not only have a place in our hearts, but in the hearts and homes of our audience," the Conner cast said in a joint statement following the news. "We all came back last season because we wanted to tell stories about the challenges facing a working-class family today. We are so happy to have the opportunity to return with the cast and crew to continue to share those stories through love and laughter.”

The Conners has not yet been given a premiere date.
