About to Pop: Taylor Swift, Neon Hitch + More Singles
Chris Rene is the latest About to Pop champ, dominating last week's song showdown with his new single 'Trouble.' This means Rene's beachy, ukele-filled tune will receive 20+ spins on PopCrush's radio show this weekend, airing on a bunch of stations all over the U.S. Way to go, Chris!
So, who's in the running for this week's fan-voted About to Pop slot? Taylor Swift is leading this week's batch of potential winners with her breakup anthem 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,' which is one of the most upbeat and refreshing kiss-off tunes we've heard since Kelly Clarkson's 'Sine U Been Gone.' But for Swift to win, she's got to beat Neon Hitch and her hardcore stick-in-your-head single 'Gold,' a "psychedelic love story" with co-writing efforts from Bruno Mars.
Usher is also contending this week with his latest 'Looking 4 Myself' single 'Numb,' another rising dance floor anthem that will surely please club goers and hardcore Usher fans alike. Then there's Flo Rida, who is sure to find another top spot on the charts with 'Let It Roll.' And finally, closing out this week's About to Pop songs, is Disney starlet and rising songstress Bridgit Mendler, whose new hip-hop twinged single 'Ready or Not' (which sounds like it might've been loosely inspired by the Fugees song of the same name) shows a lot of growth for the 19-year-old.
