There were rumors of Adele recording a James Bond theme song going back to last year, but now The Sun is offering some of the strongest proof yet that the songstress may be contributing music to the latest 007 flick, 'Skyfall.'

The website reports that earlier this month, Adele visited historic Abbey Road Studios, where music director Thomas Newman has been putting together the score for the spy film starring Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench and Ralph Fiennes. Adele has reportedly been working with Paul Epworth, who produced 'Rolling in the Deep.'

Last year, Adele hinted to talk show host Jonathan Ross that she would be heading into the studio to record just one song. She revealed, "Well, this is actually a theme. Wow, that’s really giving something away." It sounds to us like an Adele and Bond pairing is all but a done deal!

How would Adele fare as a Bond theme vocalist? While many of the most memorable Bond themes were recorded by rock bands, female pop artists have also produced their fair share, including Madonna's 'Die Another Day,' Sheryl Crow's 'Tomorrow Never Dies,' and the Alicia Keys-Jack White duet 'Another Way to Die.'

Since Adele isn't going to be releasing the follow-up to her record-setting album '21' anytime soon, her possible Bond theme may be the only new music we get from her for a long, long time. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
