Casey Abrams is safe, even after receiving the least amount of votes on 'American Idol' this week! The judges didn't even make Abrams finish his redemption song on tonight's elimination episode. Instead, they stopped him cold midway through 'I Don't Need No Doctor' and announced they were going to give the fuzzy-haired and bearded vocalist their only save of the season.

In fact, the judges all so dig Abram's gruff style that they were confused as to why he even ended up at the bottom of the fan voting. Apparently the audience back home wasn't as impressed with his blue-eyed soul cover of Marvin Gaye's 'Heard It Through the Grapevine' during this week's Motown-inspired show.

While Abrams' attempt at Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' was deemed 'unpleasant' and 'screechy' and despite his 'Grapevine' being far from perfect, he has already endeared himself wholly to the judges. Now it's up to America to give him another chance next week.

Which is going to be extra difficult. Since Abrams was given a reprieve, not one, but two contestants will be sent home next week. So his extended stay could be short-lived, but we won't know until next week's episode.

Abrams was blown away by the fact that the judges granted him a stay of execution. He broke down and exclaimed, "Are you really? Why would you do this? I can't believe it" when he approached the judge's table. It was an "Awwww" moment, and at least for tonight, Abrams isn't going anywhere but back to the 'Idol' mansion.

Jennifer Lopez did give him one more piece of poignant advice, telling the singer, "We just want you to get back to being the musician that you are. No more antics. You deserve to be here."

With no life jackets left on the good ship 'Idol,' things are going to get very interesting as Season 10 progresses into the pressure cooker rounds. Congrats, Casey Abrams, on earning the save.
