Lauren Alaina Turns Into a ‘Wild One’ on ‘American Idol’

On 'American Idol' tonight, Lauren Alaina was able to choose the song she would perform in the first round. The Georgia native went back to her Southern roots, as she often does, and took on one of Faith Hill's earlier tracks, 1993's 'Wild One.'

Beyonce was able to give the 16-year-old, who is known for letting her nerves get the best of her at time, some useful advice. She told Alaina to get pumped up before she sings live, and the contestant must have listened, because she rocked the stage tonight! Her performance was full of energy and she truly looked like she was enjoying herself. Alaina's vocals were pitch-perfect, too, utilizing her unique and powerful voice to it's full potential.

After she belted out Hill's song for America, the judges praised Alaina for her performance. J. Lo told her to "attack it like that every time," while Randy Jackson applauded the 'Idol' young'n for having "a connection with the song." As always, Steven Tyler loved his girl Lauren, summing it all up by saying, "You were having fun when we met back then, you're having fun now."
