After ripping the roof off with an upbeat Carrie Underwood song during her first performance on last night's 'American Idol,' Lauren Alaina got all warm and fuzzy on us, tackling the Righteous Brothers' heartache-fueled 'Unchained Melody.'

If you thought that this season's ballad queen Pia Toscano was unjustly voted off a few weeks back, she will be relegated to distant memory status thanks to Lauren Alaina, who demonstrated her ability to own (and we mean own) a ballad when she took this song to new heights on tonight's 'American Idol.' It's like we could picture a remake of the movie 'Ghost,' with Alaina remaking this song for the infamous pottery scene! You can envision it, too, right?

The judges unanimously agreed that there was pretty much nothing to judge with this performance. Alaina was incredibly flawless and it was the right song for her to showcase her pipes to. Right song + right voice = bright future. "There is nothing to judge there, really," Jennifer Lopez commented. "A beautiful song sung beautifully." Steven Tyler succinctly said, "You are so right, so there. I love that song. I could listen to you all night." So could we.
