In tonight's episode, the remaining 'American Idol' contestants were allowed to play instruments, use backup singers or go a capella to showcase their other talents and gifts.

Haley Reinhart and her huge, Taylor Swift-style blond ringlets were matched only by her room-filling voice. We love how she extended her hand while singing. Casey Abrams, the Seth Rogen doppelganger, strummed a stand up bass while singing 'Georgia on My Mind,' which caught the attention of fellow bassist Randy Jackson. Robbie Rosen made Jennifer Lopez tear up as he tickled the ivories, while Lauren Alaina reprised 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing.' They are all still favorites in these early rounds.

Ashthon Jones invoked Jennifer Hudson with 'I'm Telling You I'm Not Going,' while Thia Megia "youthanized" the standard 'What a Wonderful World' with tenderness and warmth. Youngster Jacee Badeaux once again sang beyond his teen years with David Cook's 'Time of My Life.' Chris Medina brought a guitar for Bobby Brown's 'My Prerogative,' while surfer dude Carson Higgins sang it with an entirely different twist. Both gents infused the R&B song with some blue-eyed soul.

Two rooms worth of contestants advanced, while two rooms worth were sent home. There's still lots of talent to sift through this season, that's for sure. We wouldn't want the judges' jobs.
