Barbie's dream house is gonna have to find a new tenant — Amy Schumer, who was slated to play the famed toy in an upcoming live-action movie, has pulled out of the film, meaning Skipper may have to just go ahead and do this thing solo.

Schumer said in a statement provided to The Hollywood Reporter yesterday (March 23) that other projects have prevented her from pursuing the film any further. She signed onto the movie, which follows one prodigal Barbie who realizes she doesn't fit into a fantasy world, in December.

“Sadly, I’m no longer able to commit to Barbie due to scheduling conflicts," Schumer said. "The film has so much promise, and Sony and Mattel have been great partners. I’m bummed, but look forward to seeing Barbie on the big screen.”

“We respect and support Amy’s decision," a Sony spokesperson added. "We look forward to bringing Barbie to the world and sharing updates on casting and filmmakers soon.”

The film's release date has been consequently pushed from May 12, 2017, to June 29, 2018.

Schumer's initial casting didn't come without controversy. Almost immediately after the announcement, internet trolls targeted her for being a mismatch to Barbie's traditionally slim body type, which Schumer refuted in a heated Instagram post.

"Anyone who has ever been bullied or felt bad about yourself I am out there fighting for you, for us. And I want you to fight for yourself too! We need to laugh at the haters and sympathize with them. They can scream as loud as they want. We can’t hear them because we are getting s— done. I am proud to lead by example. I say if I’m beautiful, I say if I’m strong. You will not determine my story. I will,” she wrote.
