Ashton Irwin of 5SOS Shaves Off Beard, Posts Selfie [PHOTO]

R.I.P. Ashton Irwin's beard!

On Monday, Jan. 15, the 5 Seconds of Summer drummer revealed that he had shaved off a beard that he had been growing over the holiday season.

Ashton himself tweeted "The holiday beard is ... GONE" after sharing the above photo of his face cleanly shaven. Almost immediately, the hashtag #RIPAshtonsBeard trended on Twitter by 5SOS fans, and Ashton himself joined in on the fun.

Just five days ago, the teen heartthrob posted a selfie on vacation sporting some gruff facial hair while out in a beautiful location.

It's going to be a big year for Ashton, as he and his bandmates will be headlining a new worldwide tour, titled the Rock Out With Your Socks Out Tour, that will hit countries in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia starting in May.
