No one, not even Canadian angst queen Avril Lavigne herself is masking the fact that the singer's latest album 'Goodbye Lullaby' was sort of a flop, even though the latest 'single 'Smile' is beginning to seek heat. However, a 30 second snippet of the unreleased song 'Won't Let You Go' has been leaked online and it's a pretty ballad that makes us wonder exactly where it came from -- or if this could be the direction the 'Complicated' singer is planning to go in next. It could even be that the song was generated in previous album sessions from years ago. We just don't know much about it other than it's short.

Lavigne recently said that she had already commenced working on the follow up to 'Goodbye Lullaby,' pretty much resigning herself to the fact that it was time to start over and begin work on what will become her fifth studio album. She even finished eight songs already.

There's not too much we can say about a 30 second clip of the song, other than to mention that it's a tug-at-the-heart-string ballad and that it fills our ears, reminding us why we crush on Avril and that's for her voice and her rip-my-heart-out-of-my-chest-and-throw-it-on-the-table for all to see approach to lyrics. It's certainly a tease that gets our brains racing and curious about its origins. It also has us wanting to hear more than 30 measly seconds. Let's hope that the rest of the track leaks sooner than later.
