When it comes to pop music, the women within this genre have really been dominating the airwaves over the past few years. Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato and Nicki Minaj are just a few of the names that come to mind when you think of this year in music, with each of these ladies having released hit singles and/or raking in the cash thanks to tours and outside gigs like 'X Factor' judging positions.

We've come up with a list of the hugest female pop stars of 2012, from dance-pop artists to teeny bopper songstresses, and we want to know: Who gets your vote for best female pop of 2012?

While all of the aforementioned artists have had massive success thus far in 2012, there are plenty of other female songstresses who will surely remember 2012 for the rest of their lives. Although Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus haven't released much new music in 2012, both are as popular as ever grabbing headlines with their love lives as well as cinematic endeavors. Same goes for Christina Aguilera, who has made a huge comeback thanks to her stint on 'The Voice.'

Meanwhile, there are lots of other female singers who have come back with a vengeance in the musical front. Kesha is getting ready to unleash a whole new batch of tunes for fans, while No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani and Pink have also dropped new singles (and have albums in the works) for 2012. Madonna is also back in the game (did she ever leave?) with her new album 'MDNA,' as is Nelly Furtado, whose 2012 LP 'The Spirit Indestructible' will drop in the autumn.

Also on our poll are some of Britain's biggest starlets like Jessie J, Rita Ora and Ellie Goulding, while there are tons of teen pop stars who make an appearance like U.K. cutie Cher Lloyd as well as Jasmine V, Zendaya of 'Shake It Up!,' Laura Marano of 'Austin & Ally,' and Coco Jones of Disney's 'Let It Shine.'

Check out our entire list of the nominees for Best Female Pop Star of 2012 and be sure to vote for your favorite songstress every hour!
