No nip slip and no fault. Beyonce has been cleared of any blame regarding the blackout that crippled Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday night (Feb. 3.) After Bey's explosive halftime show, the power went out in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans at the top of the third quarter in the second half. Some people speculated that her show had something to do with it. However, NFL commissioner Roger Goddell quickly dispelled those rumors.

The outage killed the lights, stopped escalators and paused the air conditioning. But don't blame Bey!

"There’s no indication at all that this was caused by the halftime show,” Goodell said. ”Absolutely none. I know that’s been out there, to say that Beyonce’s halftime show had anything to do with it. That’s not the case from anything we have at this point."

Doug Thornton of SMG, the Superdome’s management company, confirmed that Bey's power was on a separate generator and that it wasn’t drawing power from or draining stadium sources. So it sounds like it was physically impossible for her to be at fault.

See, Beyonce is so otherworldly that she needs her own generator.

"The halftime show was run on 100 percent generated power. That means it was not on our power grid at all,” Thornton said, according to ABC. “All we know is we had an interruption in service.”
