Beyonce

Beyonce achieved initial fame in one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, but it was solo mega-stardom that was her true destiny. The singer-dancer-actress dominated the new millennium with her dynamic live performances and iconic female-empowerment songs like 'Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)' and 'Irreplaceable.' Born Beyonce Knowles in 1981, the Texas native had her first taste of fame in the late 1990s as the breakout star of R&B trio Destiny's Child. Her 2003 debut solo album, 'Dangerously in Love,' earned her five Grammy Awards and her first solo No. 1 single, 'Crazy in Love,' featuring future husband Jay-Z. Queen Bey made history in 2013 with the surprise release of her self-titled "visual album," when she became the first woman in Billboard history to have her first five studio albums debut at No. 1.
