Who needs a wake up cup of coffee to start your day in space when you can be greeted by the honeyed speaking voice of one of the greatest divas of our time? After a slice of her percussive, estrogen-power single 'Run the World (Girls)' played out, Beyonce greeted the crew of astronauts aboard the Atlantis space shuttle on Saturday morning with a special, pre-recorded message.

The astronauts were amidst the ninth day of the shuttle's final mission when they got the call. Being an astronaut certainly has its privileges, like exploring terrain beyond earth, embarking on scientific fact-finding missions, eating freeze dried cuisine and being on the receiving end of personalized messages from Beyonce Knowles. Mmm hmm.

In her message, Beyonce spoke clearly, saying, "Sandy, Chris, Doug and Rex, you inspire all of us to dare to live our dreams — to know that we're smart enough and strong enough to achieve this. This song is especially for my girl Sandy and all the women who've taken us to space with them, and the girls who are our future explorers."

Did you really think that the Queen B, whose entire career has been erected upon the notions of girl power, empowering women to be survivors and in command, would pass up the opportunity to give a personal shout out to Sandra Magnus, the lone lady on this particular crew? Of course you didn't, and neither did we!

Magnus took a moment to acknowledge the personal shout out, saying, "Good morning, Houston. A big thanks to Beyonce for taking the time out of her schedule to record us a greeting, and we’re ready for another day here on Atlantis."

Oh Beyonce, you are just out of this world.
