We recently reported that Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5 vocalist Adam Levine would serve on the caoch's panel on an 'American Idol' type talent competition series called 'The Voice.' Well, the rumor is now as real as the show itself, as the ink is dry on the singers' deals to act as coaches.

"I am so happy that Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green have joined the coach panel for 'The Voice,'" executive producer Mark Burnett tells Entertainment Weekly. "Aside from being incredible voices, they bring years of experience in the music industry and a really cool vibe that has never been seen before on a music competition series."

"It's an honor for me to be able to help mold a malleable and new talent in such a fashion as 'The Voice,'" said Green in a statement. "Being a coach on 'The Voice' is a substantial responsibility, and I take it with sincerity and distinction."

"I was absolutely thrilled to be invited by Mark Burnett to join The Voice as a coach," said Levine in a statement, as well. "I look forward to working with these singers and helping them push forward throughout the competition to make their musical dreams become a reality."

The show is set to premiere on NBC on Tuesday, April 26 at 9PM ET. The series debut will be two hours, but it will switch to an hour-long format on May 10 at 8PM ET.

Christina Aguilera is still in the discussion stages about joining the show's coaching panel, as well. However, especially considering her recent arrest, Aguilera's appearance on the show is uncertain.

Overall, 'The Voice' differs from 'American Idol' in that judges face the opposite way while the contestants sing. This helps the judges make their decisions based solely on talent, as opposed to looks, image or total package.
