Ed Sheeran may like his chest tattoos flashy, but when it comes to the ladies, he likes 'em low-key.

Sheeran, who broke up with Athina Andrilos in March after 14 months of dating, sat down with Rolling Stone in an interview published today (September 24). After confessing that he was hungover from a night with DJ Khaled involving "a lot of very, very loud rock music and sparkly bottles and stuff like that," the X singer admitted that fame has drawn girls like moths to the flame. But it's not all it's cracked up to be: "I've gotten more attention from the wrong sort of women. Like, the sort of women I wouldn't have wanted to date anyway show attention now — the ones that are kind of driven by money and fame and want to get taken out to nice restaurants and bought nice things, you know?"

"I've always been more attracted to someone who would just want to go to a dive bar and do shots and play pool," he continued. Sheeran's been linked to a woman named Cherry Seaborn this month, and Nicole Scherzinger recently shot down rumors that she and Ed were coupled up.

Ed also explained the gigantic lion tattoo that's taken up permanent residence on his chest — a piece he got to celebrate playing London's Wembley Stadium. "The England crest is three lions, so I was going to get three lions, but I got one instead," he said.

The guff he's taken over the lion seems to be a sensitive subject, too. "I don't really know why people make such a big fuss out of it. I know so many people with sh---t tattoos in f---cking Greek and Latin that they can't even read or understand that say slogans like "Times change, people don't," or something bullsh---t like that," he said. "I'm sure [David] Beckham has some sh---t on him, some sort of Chinese art that no one would find that strange. But they find me putting something that symbolizes me playing the biggest venue in England weird."

On working on his third and fourth albums in tandem, Ed is feeling Kanye-level confident. "I could probably release one of them tomorrow and have people like it," he says, suggesting it's even better than X. "I feel like on the next couple of records there will be more great songs than good songs." He's also considering a trip to Africa to expand his musical influences.
