Ladies, if you want a date with Ed Sheeran, you're going to have to hope for a meeting through the old fashioned way of face-to-face contact, as the singer-songwriter has revealed he turned down an offer from Tinder to become the first verified celebrity participant. In a radio interview with Total Access (quotes via EW), Sheeran said that he was given a chance to become the first verified celebrity on the mobile dating app Tinder, but turned them down.

“It just sounds quite creepy doing that,”  he admitted. "You're just using your celebrity status to hook up with chicks.”

The popularity of Tinder has become mainstream and many single celebrities have joked about meeting future dates using the app, including Katy Perry and Harry Styles. The people behind the app did announce recently that they were working on ways to verify celebrities in order to prevent impostors from infiltrating the network.

So what do you think, ladies? Had Sheeran joined Tinder, would you have swiped "Yes" or "No" to him?
