The king of hip-pop, Flo Rida's stage name is an homage to his home state.

The rapper -- Tramar Dillard to his mama and on all legal documentation -- was actively exposed to and involved in music in the 305 from a young age, since a relative was the hype man for 2 Live Crew, one of the most sexually explicit rap groups ever. Flo was even in a rap collective called The GroundHoggz.

He exploded in the late '00s, with a string of hits and collabos, including 'Low' with T-Pain, 'Right Round' with Kesha, 'Wild Ones' with Sia, and solo hits like 'I Cry' and 'Whistle.'

While Flo is more hip-pop than Southern hip-hop, he is one of the genre's biggest crossover stars. You can always count on him to crank out a catchier-than-a-cold, pop-rap hit.
