Frank Ocean Writes Future Career Plans in Open Letter
In his letter, which was posted as a screenshot of a TextEdit file, he writes a laundry list of things he would like to accomplish in the future. Among them is starting a car club, penning a novel and building an arcade (remember him playing video games during his performance on 'SNL' with John Mayer?).
But Ocean also wrote ruminations about what he has accomplished so far in his life. Recently, he was in the studio with Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams. "I sat in the studio days ago with Jiggaman and Pharrell. Pharrell looks 19. They seemed like old friends," he writes. "I wonder how many trophies are lodged in their minds. I wonder why they still build. I build things for the sport and the therapeutic benefits."
He also discussed his experience dealing with fame. Although he's appreciative of his success -- he mentions that he flew around the world in 2012 -- the singer admits that he has no one to share it with.
"I found absolute silence in a meditation session in that house in the hills," he writes. "I have a dog who misses me, he so big now. Damn. He knows about as much as me, as to what f---is going on."
"It's hard to ascertain what's happened in my life the last couple of years," he adds. "I suppose this is what going through things feels like. I can't imagine a decade from now, how I'll feel about it all."
Ocean ended his letter saying that he's working on plenty of new music. "I'm gonna get back to that now, good night moon," he closes.
